Why dance?
Happier, calmer, more confident kids
Many children are carrying more worry than we realise. Dancing together is a joyful, low-pressure way to let off steam, make friends and grow in confidence. No experience and no partner needed.
Confidence
Learning new moves and succeeding step by step helps build self-esteem and the courage to try things.
Calmer minds
Rhythm, music and movement help children let go of stress, anxiety and screen fatigue.
Friendship
A kind, inclusive group where children feel they belong. It's great for shy children too.

FAQs
Questions from parents
Does my child need any dance experience?
No. Complete beginners are very welcome, and children don't need a partner.
Does my child need to attend Harris Academy Chobham?
No. Sessions are open to children aged 8–14 from any school. The academy is simply our venue.
What should they wear?
Comfortable clothes, trainers or indoor shoes, and a water bottle.
Can parents stay and watch?
You're welcome to stay for the first session. After that we'll share the drop-off, waiting and collection arrangements for the venue.
My child has additional needs or is going through a tough time. Is this suitable?
Very likely, yes. The sessions are built around wellbeing. Tell us a little in the form (or by phone), and we'll talk it through with you before the first class.
What happens after I register my interest?
Registering doesn't commit you to anything. Before January we'll contact you with confirmed times and a short registration and consent form.
